Vancouver/ Seattle/ Olympic National Park Itinerary

Sea-to-Sky Highway between Vancouver and Whistler, BC

Our trip to Seattle and British Columbia was the 2nd of our big trips with our children who were in elementary school. Since flights were significantly less expensive for  Seattle, so we decided to incorporate that into our trip to British Columbia.

Friday

Flight to Seattle

Stayed at Red Lion Inn – Seattle Airport

 

Capistrano Bridge

Saturday

Lunch at Calico Cupboard  – Mt. Vernon, WA

Arrived Vancouver

Capistrano Bridge – Vancouver

Walked along Vancouver Waterfront – Vancouver

Stayed at Blue Horizon Hotel – Vancouver

 

Queen Elizabeth Park

Sunday

Stanley Park – Vancouver

Queen Elizabeth Park – Vancouver

Nitobe Memorial Garden – University of British Columbia, Vancouver

 

Monday

Scenic drive to and from Whistler, BC on the Sea-to-Sky Highway

We had planned to take the Peak2Peak Gondola at Whistler but it was closed due to fog

Still enjoyed walking around the village and eating lunch

 

Hurricane Ridge

Tuesday

Lunch at Calico Cupboard (again) – Mt. Vernon, WA

WSDOT Car Ferry from Coupeville, WA to Townsend, WA

Lunch at Blondie’s Place – Sequim, WA

Visited Hurricane Ridge – Olympic National Park

Dinner at Lake Crescent Lodge – Olympic National Park

Stayed at Red Lion Inn – Port Angeles, WA

 

Rialto Beach

Wednesday

Hoh Rain Forest – Olympic  National Park

Lake Quinault – Olympic  National Park

Rialto Beach – Olympic  National Park

Dinner at Kokopelli Grill – Port Angeles, WA

 

Thursday

Empress Hotel

Black Ball Ferry to Victoria BC

Gray Line Hop-Off Trolley Tour – Victoria

Tea at Fairmont Empress Hotel (just 1 child and me) – Victoria

Whale Watching (the other 1/2 family) – Victoria

Return to Port Angeles via Black Ball Ferry

WSDOT Car Ferry from Whidbey Island (Clinton) to Seattle (Mukilteo)

Museum of Flight – Seattle

Gas Works Park – Seattle

Stayed at Sheraton Seattle Downtown

 

Chihuly Gardens and Glass

Saturday

Olympic Sculpture Park – Seattle

Pike Place Market – Seattle

Chihuly Gardens & Glass (just three of us) – Seattle

Seattle Music Experience, now called Museum of Pop Culture (the rest of family) – Seattle

Space Needle – Seattle

Dinner – Norma’s Restaurant
