After a relaxing few days in Jasper, it was time to head back south to Banff. The great thing about staying overnight in Jasper is that you can catch all the sights you missed on the way up the Columbia Icefield Parkway. There are so many amazing sites on the Columbia Icefield Parkway that you can’t absorb it all in just one day!

We made a quick visit to Greenville, South Carolina, recently. Since it’s only a two-hour drive from Atlanta, Greenville is an easy day trip or a good halfway point stop on the way to Charlotte.
Plus Greenville is fun to visit any time of year. A major highlight is Falls Park on the Reedy, right in the middle of downtown. Visitors can explore both sides of the Reedy River on the Liberty Bridge. Spanning 345 feet, the single cable suspension bridge provides unobstructed views of the falls.

Before leaving Los Angeles, we wanted to get in one more hike. Since we had finished seeing the Niguel Botanical Garden in Laguna Niguel, we weren't too far from Dana…
After spending a few days with family over the Christmas holidays in Palm Desert, I needed time to myself. Since the sun set early – before 5 p.m. – I knew that if I wanted to hike alone, I would need to hit a trail earlier in the day. I read up on the Palm Desert Cross Trail, located about 10 miles away.
